Agent Press Wire Adds Vercel AI SDK Tools in Version 0.3.0 on GitHub

November 4, 2026: Agent Press Wire added Vercel AI SDK tools in version 0.3.0 of its agent-press-wire-mcp package. Developers can import agentPressWireTools from agent-press-wire-mcp/ai-sdk to quote, publish or distribute a press release from an AI SDK agent. Each call has a per-call spend cap the model cannot raise, and the payment terms are pinned in the package.

The package also works as an MCP server. It lets AI agents, including Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Cursor and any MCP client, announce product launches and distribute press releases. Each call is paid in USDC on Base over x402 from the user's own wallet, with no account and no API key. The announce_launch_newsroom tool costs $1 USDC. It drafts a 350 to 450 word AP-style release from a product URL and publishes it on a public, search-indexed newsroom page in about 20 seconds. The distribute_press_release tool costs $99 USDC for the wire tier and $299 USDC for the premium tier. It drafts a 450 to 600 word release and sends it over a newswire to 500+ news sites plus 100+ TV and radio network sites. Premium adds AP News, USA Today, Barchart and StreetInsider. A free get_release_status tool returns status and live coverage links.

Out of the box, the server runs in quote mode. MAX_SPEND_USD sets the most the server may pay for a single call and defaults to 0, which means quote only. MAX_TOTAL_SPEND_USD sets a lifetime cap across all calls and restarts. Paying takes two calls. The first call returns the price and a confirm_token. The agent shows the user the price, and after approval it calls again with that token. Tokens are single use and expire after 10 minutes. The server refuses any payment unless the x402 terms match values pinned in the package, including the exact prices, USDC on Base mainnet and a maxTimeoutSeconds of 600 or less. As a result, a compromised server or a wrong PRESS_API_URL cannot redirect funds or raise the price. The per-call cap is enforced twice, once by the server before signing and once by the x402 client's own spend controls.

"The service only charges when the job succeeds," according to Agent Press Wire. Failed drafts, rejected topics and wire rejections are not charged. Users may also supply their own headline and body. The body must run 150 to 900 words, or 380 to 900 for the wire tiers, and it goes through the same safety checks as a drafted release. Installation requires Node 20+.
