A press release for your open source project's big release
A 1.0, a major version or a foundation announcement deserves more than a changelog. Paste your project page, README or docs page, say what the release is, and get a factual AP-style release written from it. Free to read, $99 to distribute to 500+ news sites plus 100+ TV and radio network sites.
The draft uses only what your page says. No marketing adjectives, no invented adoption numbers. Maintainers who already wrote an announcement post can paste it and have it sent as written.
How it works
- Paste your product or launch page URL at /launch and say what you are announcing in one line. You can also paste a release you already wrote. Not sure what to type? See how to write the announcement line.
- In about 30 seconds you see the full draft, free. Facts come only from your page and your note. No invented numbers, people or quotes.
- If you like it, pay once by card. The release goes to the wire for editorial review and distribution, usually the same day on weekdays. If the wire rejects it, you get a full refund.

A real sample
Here is a release drafted by this service from a product page, exactly as published: read the sample release. Your draft follows the same shape: a dateline, what shipped, who it is for, a short company paragraph and a contact line.
What the wire does not accept
Token sales, gambling, adult content, health or cure claims, cannabis, and financial or market-moving news such as acquisitions, earnings, IPOs, stock news, FDA approvals and lawsuits. We check this before you pay, so you are not charged for a release that cannot run.
Questions
Can I announce on behalf of a project I maintain but do not own?
The announcing organization must match the page the release is drafted from. If the project is under an organization, use that organization's page and a contact email from it.
Does a GitHub repo page work as the source?
A GitHub page with a real README works. A docs site or project homepage usually gives a better draft because it says who the project is for.
Do I need to write the press release myself?
No. Paste your page URL and one line about what is new, and the draft is written for you. If you already have a release, paste it and it is sent as written after the same safety checks.
How long does distribution take?
You see the draft in about 30 seconds. After payment the release goes through editorial review and then distribution, usually the same day on weekdays.
What if the wire rejects my release?
You are refunded in full. Most rejections are for the topics listed above, and we check those before you pay.
Will I get a list of where it ran?
Yes. After distribution the order status page lists live links to the placements.
Paste my page and read the draft
